Western Regional Conference 2026

The President’s dinner has been confirmed – on October 23, we invite you to join us at the Boreal Bistro at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, where UM President Michael Benarroch will talk about Academic Freedom.
 
Each year, faculty associations from across Western Canada gather at the Western Regional Conference (WRC) to exchange ideas, share strategies, and discuss the issues shaping academic labour—from bargaining and grievance processes to the changing landscape of higher education. In 2026, the conference will take place in Winnipeg, hosted by the University of Manitoba Faculty Association (UMFA).
 
WRC 2026 will be held at the Union Centre, located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. As a hub for labour organizations, it’s a fitting venue for the conference and is conveniently located near several unionized hotels:
