UMFA Annual General Meeting
A highlight of the meeting was a presentation by Cameron Morrill on the pension plan which prompted numerous questions and discussion. The 2008-2009 Financial Statements were presented to the Members, as well as the 2009-2010 Budget.
UMFA held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2009. The meeting was well-attended at its new venue, the University Club.
Maureen Paisley was on hand to accept the CAUT Distinguished Service Award which was presented posthumously to her husband, Jared Paisley. The Paul Fortier Prize for Student Activism was awarded to Alon Weinberg. UMFA Members and guests stayed following the meeting for a reception to honour the award recipients and to mingle with colleagues.
Incoming President Brad McKenzie thanked Brenda Austin-Smith for her dedication and diligence as UMFA President during the past two years. He also welcomed Cameron Morrill as the incoming Vice-President.
