UMFA 2011 Annual General Meeting
UMFA held its Annual General Meeting on Monday, May 16, 2011. The meeting was well-attended at Marshall McLuhan Hall.
Cameron Morrill was re-elected by acclamation as President and Sharon Alward was elected as Vice-President for 2011-2012. The Order of the Day was the UMFA/UMDCSA (Dental Clinical Staff Association) merger. Cameron Morrill presented information regarding the merger and a motion was carried to approve the terms of the merger agreement. The 2010-2011 Financial Statements were presented to the Members, as well as the 2011-2012 Budget.
Brenda Austin-Smith and Brad McKenzie were awarded the Roy Vogt Memorial Award for Exceptionally Meritorious Service and the CAUT Dedicated Service Award. Brenda Austin-Smith was on hand to accept her awards. Brad McKenzie could not attend the AGM and will receive his awards at a later date. The Paul Fortier Prize for Student Activism was awarded to Leena Hasan.
UMFA Members and guests stayed following the meeting for a reception to honour the award recipients and to mingle with colleagues.
